Job Description:

INTRODUCTION
WaterAid is an international non-governmental organization. Our mission is to transform lives by improving access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in the world’s poorest communities. WaterAid works by helping local organizations and governments to set up low cost and sustainable WASH solutions that can be managed by the community itself. WaterAid also seeks to influence the policies of other key organizations, such as governments, to secure and protect the right of poor people to safe, affordable water and sanitation services.
1, ROLE OF POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATION
The position is mandated to lead M&E function under South Asia WASH Resuts Project (SAWRP) undertaken in three districts of Sindh and Punjab in consortium with Plan International and Unilever Pakistan. Total project span is of four years of which 1½ years have been completed. The project entails the mobilisation of rural communities to declare their villages open defection free (ODF) under CLTS/ PATS approach by building improved latrines and exhibiting change in WASH behaviours. Some of the communities will also receive water supply and sanitation schemes as reward for the rigorous involvement in the process. The communities will be educated on basic principles of improved hygiene to support them to bring change in their hygiene behaviours for improved environment of their living.
2, JOB PURPOSE
The Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator will lead on project monitoring and evaluation, quality assurance, learning and reporting in the project according to the Payment by Results (PBR) Strategy that entails established indicators of measurement of the progress as well as verification/ validation of the interventions and project log frame (LFA). M&E Coordinator will also lead in supporting the consultants in designing and conducting the baselines, KAP surveys and end-line evaluations of the project. S/he will ensure quality, accuracy, timeliness and management of the data collected from the field under this project. S/he will provide support to partner staff in effectively providing monitoring and other related data on key indicators thereby ensuring project’s alignment to results agreed with the consortium partners and donor in the project proposa
