Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE POST
Under the overall supervision and guidance of Nutrition Specialist, support and facilitate collection, consolidation, analysis, interpretation, reporting and dissemination of data on nutrition interventions. The SM will help in planning, implementation of capacity development plans of partners in IYCF, CMAM and dedicate most of the time for monitoring and supplies handling.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Collect, compile, clean and analyze data on UNICEF supported nutrition interventions in KP on weekly basis and generate the desired weekly, monthly and quarterly reports and proposes corrective actions. Provide inputs for UNICEF internal weekly, biweekly and monthly SitReps, OCHA SitReps and other reports for donors as and when needed. Ensure representation of UNICEF in the nutrition cluster and other coordination meetings related to UNICEF response in nutrition.
2. Conduct potential partners capacity mapping, define their capacity development needs and develop plan for their capacity with specific focus on CMAM, appropriate IYCF practices promotion and maternal nutrition promotion. Train key personnel of current and potential nutrition partners to enable them to plan, implement, supervise and monitor CMAM, IYCF and Maternal Nutrition promotion using existing national training guidelines and materials.
3. Conduct field visits to monitor implementation of emergency nutrition interventions in the affected areas; undertake analytical interpretation of best available information in order to benchmark progress of the UNICEF response over time using monitoring indicators (quantity, quality, coverage, continuity and cost) of service delivery. Provide technical assistance (TA) to partners in their plans and field work.
4. Facilitate cash advances to partners, conduct follow up for accounts submission and assist in review and liquidation.
5. Work with the UNICEF communication section and IPs to develop and ensure printing/procurement of appropriate communication and community mobilization material on IYCF and CMAM. Ensure adequate and proper use of the CMAM and IYCF communication/promotion material.
6. Draft/share timely supply plans for nutrition interventions. Ensure timely receipts of requests for nutrition supplies from the partners and facilitate timely delivery of supplies. Monitor proper supplies distribution.
WORK EXPERIENCE
1-2 year's combined experience in different international organizations
Knowledge of NiE (Nutrition in Emergencies) technical guidelines, standards, and indicators
Ability to plan and implement capacity building activities on CMAM and IYCF packages
Past experience of assignments similar in nature
Proven statistical analytical skills
LANGUAGES
· Fluency in spoken English and Urdu, Excellence in written English, Knowledge of the local working language of the duty station is an asset.
