JOB DESCRIPTION
Department: 1st Level Operations Position: Infrastructure and Application Engineer Reports to: Operations Manager OVERALL PURPOSE 1st
Level Infrastructure and Application Engineer oversee the Mobile
Financial Services (MFS) Platform assurance and service assurance
activities. The primary purpose of the function is alarm monitoring and
alarm management for Mobile Financial Services (MFS), interpreting /
understanding / resolving received alarms and escalating faults that
cannot be handled within a limited period to relevant system or SLO
Engineers (Back Office). The surveillance function is a 24/7 operation.
Shift work is therefore applied. The 1st Level Infrastructure and
Application Engineer is expected to be in control of MFS status and
activities, being able at any one time to understand and report on
traffic / service degradations and restoration activities. The
surveillance function has greater influence on restoration times and
therefore on overall network performance values.

Responsibilities:
- Provide
surveillance, maintenance and support services for Mobile Financial
Services (MFS) platform, which includes but not limited to daily health
checks, correction of errors, abnormality or malfunctioning of any
hardware/service, error report handling and problem management,
establishing work around solutions. Ensure accurate response times
within the timeframes and the severity levels as outlined in hardware
SLA to ensure customer satisfaction and trust.
- Ensure constant and steady delivery of service at all times and minimize resolution times.
- Achieve a common understanding level across the board for complaint handling (customer care) and resolution.
- Ensure sustained monitoring of all KPIs related to service infrastructure.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Degree within Electrical Engineering / Telecommunication Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience
in surveillance of Mobile Financial Services (mobile money, mobile
banking, online payments, m-commerce, digital and electronic payment
systems).
- Should possess excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- 3 years in a similar role.
